We'll just sit this tangent out, give you as much space as you need.

Just know....I'm here if you need me while you work this through....

And if it helps....I once smoked weed, and didn't watch friday or something related to pink floyd

Don't feel insulted, I bet you really pull off short shorts and fuzzy go-go boots.

i'll take the fugazi '90s for 500, alex. except that mine was slightly more new york hardcore crossing over into metal oriented. 90s were also interesting in that i moved from skating to skiing (briefly) to mtb over the course of the decade. also finished high school, finished college, finished grad school part 1, and got married. sheesh.

*limey ginger mullet* just entered my vocabulary

also googling "DHL careers surf rescue"
Limey? Clearly 'Strayans. First of all the ginger needs sunglasses, that doesn't happen in England. Secondly the unintelligible nasally twang vs an intelligible mumbly lope.

I used to have this album hanging on the wall. Never listened to it, I hated country, I just loved the cracked out look on the dudes face. Years later I've grown to appreciate old school country in small doses.

If the patent violation is as described in the article, this is one of the lamer bike patents and an even lamer move by Knolly.

my guess is that intense will probably challenge the validity of the patent.

trying to think of other bikes in this configuration that predate the patent submission. zumbi f44 is first that comes to mind.

Yeah, anyone with time on their hands can probably pull up dozens of examples of bikes with straight seat tubes like that.

What are we missing?
Patent office takes 5 years to validate something that seems to have a lot of prior art?
Hope there is more to it, as I really don't want to see Knolly join the ranks of Specialized.

How that patent wasn't Sectioned 103'd is beyond me...
Just going through the first few pages of the "old and obscure bikes" thread:

I can't imagine this going well for Knolly. He basically made up a bullshit patent to get around the Specialized Horst Link, so maybe this is not really beneath him...

noel seems like a good guy, but i cannot for the life of me grasp the appeal of the bikes. the designs are ugly AF; adding extra linkage & a funky seat tube angle for no tangible benefit (apart from originally skirting the horst patent, which is now moot). i just can't comprehend the fanboism.

oh, PDC also did funky seattube shit like this (this was my frame; at least it wasn't meant to be pedalled up hills):

This patent doesn't have anything to do with suspension linkage.

I was only showing horst-link bike variations secondarily, the lawsuit against intense seems to be only relative to their seatpost angle/location, which all of these bikes would appear to violate, including my own pivot and I'm sure hundreds more. Knolly is claiming using their seatpost angle was to "get it out of the way" of the suspension and allow for full insertion of a seatpost...but great, it's simply a common way that many bikes have and continue to be built, I have a hard time believing this is "novel". And then Knolly pulls the "we're just a small Canadian company" and "big bad Intense in California". I don't ever see Intense bikes anymore and I'm pretty sure they aren't some massive company.

It's like an Ellsworth had sex with a lawwill suspension layout and then ran into a bridge overpass while still drunk.

Where are the bike companies (besides like Cannondale, Salsa, Giant...) that are putting out large quantities of 1-2k NICE bikes for people to get into the sport? Why isn't that the goal/focus of the industry?

What the fuck, prove me wrong.

there's enough of them out there, the problem, IMO, is that now with all these extra people that are riding, the amount of trails/trail mileage isn't increasing at the same pace.

The new Canyon Stoic 4 looks pretty solid for $1800.

I think those Caliber Bossnut things have been very popular in socialist europe for about £1000.
