the car is on the same mat as the people, and when the car stopped it pulled the mat with it.
That is a portable stage. Most of the "Mats" I have erected over the years are not designed to drive a car on. Since the whole structure is setting on a floor, not fixed to the floor, even if it was rated to hold the weight of an Automoblie it is still not fixed to the floor and will slide on the floor. In an arena the stages are fixed to the floor so that lifts and towmotors can safely operate on them. Those folks got lucky the folding legs didn't collapse. An example of a "Mat" :

You can see the checkerboard mat move quite a bit when he hits the brakes.
