Road and XC are huge in Europe and the tv time keeps the roadies getting all the money. Nino Shurter has a credit card sponsor on his forehead.... DH just isn’t there.
Beats me why. A top DH race run is nearly a full 90 seconds of coverage. Those sponsors must be loving the coverage they get.

Hey it's no time trial.......oh wait I guess it is

Well at least those skinny guys work as a better billboard than people with muscles......oh wait

Well the downtubes are bigger on roadbikes so you can read the logo........hmmm

Gotcha...but I would be interested in seeing what kind of TV ratings road really pulls, especially compared to soccer (even the various minor soccer leagues). Of course here in violent freedom land, football obliterates all the other sports in TV ratings, which I would think is roughly analogous to soccer in Yurp, with road racing being about like minor league baseball here in terms of eyeballs on TVs. Yeah, it's the most popular cycling discipline, but is it still a diminishing small number compared to other major sports? Which is to say, you're not really moving the sales needle for your company (be it a bank or a bike brand) with any cycling discipline, so why not give it all to Brage Vestanik and at least get some bad ass metal edits from a Viking?

Tour De France gets 150 million viewers in Yurp. The Superbowl gets about 100 Million in the US. The TDF is also 19 days, I'd imagine the advertising revenue is pretty vast.

I bet the 50k engineer makes more than most of the B level factory racers.
Something is wrong when a Racers salary doesn't pay enough for said racer to buy the BICYCLE he risks his life on for a living.

I don't know of a single "Factory" Team ie TAX WRITE OFF for a bicycle maker that has a real outside sponsor. It is hilarious you go to MX National it's Geico, Monster, RockStar, Toyota, Hona, Dodge, whatever the hell publicly-traded company. MTB scene its Santa Cruz, Fox, SRAM all tiny companies making pennies compared to the big players making Billions.....

You wanna make real $$$? Do Golf or Soccer now granted the competition level is probably dramatically higher there but still. You can be 60 in Golf and still earn Millions on the senior Tour..

What about e-sports? armchair warriors being watched by armchair... well, sitters... Twitch makes a living out of that tribe.

This kid BUGHA was 16.5 when he won a Fortnite Tournament 2 years ago. He won $3 Million. Look kids you can go to school for 12 years to be a DR and owe $575K when you get out and make $200K a year. Or you can buy a $3500 PC and win $3 Million in 4 hours.....

So uhh back to high pivot trail bikes.

Er uh dh bikes

I rode friends a commencial supreme for a lap today. Fox 40 grip 2 vvc that I re shimmed for him with one moar shimz. And an ext ahrma out back. Wow what a ride..... no pedal kickback feels like a chainless bike, and the ext shock.......

Id say the rearward axlepath isnt something that I noticed I had to adjust for. Turned and jumped just fine....

10/10 would bang.

For the not believers in PK riding a mondraker summum with 300% antisquat at top out and the corresponding high pk and the commencial through some braking bumps (while braking) back to back would absolutely quash ones disbelief.

Back to trail bikes....
I can't see why you wouldn't want a moderately rearward, or just never forward axle path, and no PK I think it would be reasonable for a trail bike.

The only reason we have forward axle paths is to drop AS/PK with the chain/chainring in its traditional location. The traditional location is for human form and convenience not optimal kinematics.

How does the supreme compare with your Mondraker?
The race results point to the Commencal giving riders a performance advantage.
But at the same time the Mondraker also has had great success on the W.C circuit.

yea, late to the game here after getting tagged by @jackalope but yes. road racing is huge in Yurp. and i mean huge. i think only soccer, smoking, and afternoon naps are more popular. as was pointed out, look at the outside sponsors, as well as viewership #s.

the real money to be made isn't in road bikes, but team replica kits.

the supreme is approximately 400x smoother through braking bumps.

Or you just hate your jobs.......speaking of I have about 3 weeks of PTO. Probably just cash it out. By some Blow and pay some bums cash to fight one another while watching the Tour De Roids.

i can only cash out PTO (and vacation time only at that) if i quit, and its prorated for how much of the year i worked. i can only carry over 1 week of vacation time to the following year (and it has to be used by the end of the first quarter), so its use it or lose it.

I like unlimited PTO because I don't feel guilty taking a sick or personal day, especially when the kids are sick. I don't like it because it's really just 3weeks vacay plus unlimited sick or personal days. I don't like the guessing game of how much is too much.
