I want to try an Elka on a 7point, but it's not listed as a compatible model, but neither is the sunday and I've seen a few good reviews of an elka on a sunday.
I guess my question is does elka have a tune that works for a 7 point and do you think it would be a good shock choice for the 7...
Bullcrew - How have you got your rebound set up on the mani-avi?
I finally got a good ride on mine last night and overall it was amazing. Felt super plush and smooth yet pedaled really well. Felt very racy.
I'm fighting with the rebound though. In Craig's documentation he says to start with...
I'm looking at ordering one of these for my Manitou steel spring, but not sure what size I need.
http://www.mcmaster.com/#thrust-bearings/=aqwrus
It's the needle-roller bearing
Also, I was a little confused about if it will just sit on my spring, or if I need some kind of "lip" to hold...
I have a blown manitou swinger 4 way that I can get modded for $179, or I can get a 2011 fox van RC basically new for the same price.
Which would you do? I like the fact that the manitou is custom, but only has rebound adjustment. The van RC is nice because it has low speed adjustment...
Same here. He had another thread where he said he wasn't sure if he was going to do it since there wasn't a lot of interest, but I'm betting he'd get a lot of people off the fence if he'd make it official.
hmm, didn't realize that. Sounds like I should just get the vanilla rc2 and quit worrying.
I like air springs for their infinite adjustability and haven't had good luck with getting coils to match my weight (165#). My coil experience is pretty limited though,a 2008 pike and a 2000 manitou...
I've thought about that a lot also. Only downside is that the vanilla 160 is actually lighter than the 180 float, so it seems weird to buy a heavier fork to get an air spring (just a mental hang up I have)
Your right, the dust seals don't hold the air, the air cart is sealed by o-rings that sit against the inside of the stanchion tubes. I asked fox about swapping the coil for air and they said it can't be done, but they usually say that about anything
I wonder how much the spring...
Yep, but 2011 they moved the float to an RLC only. I have a hard time finding a used fork since my headtube is huge and I need a really long steerer tube.
I really want a black 160 rc2 that is air sprung, which is not an option from Fox. I'm not that hung up about the color, but do want air and rc2. I can get a float, but then it's the RLC damper. I cna get a talas which si black, but then it's still the RLC damper.
Could I swap out coil...
For some dumb reason the 300 X 3.24 is the right spring for a 2.75 shock. I guess the lighter spring coils make it too short. I have a 350X3.24 on my 8.75 X 2.75 Van R and it fits just fine. Still have plenty of room to remove the spring if needed
Seems like it should be as simple as dropping a 160 spring into a 180 vanilla, but I asked Fox and they said it can't be done. Is that Fox just forcing us to do what they want, or will it really not work?
I'd like to have the fork mostly at 160, but have the option to go to 180 on the big...
I won't be able to see a premier of follow me and after a few of the recent videos I have purchased I don't want to drop $30 on it without seeing it.
The last couple of videos I have purchased had decent riding, but lot's of scenes of the riders partying half clothed, or mooning each other or...
Kind of an odd pair of things to lose. Lost a flashlight that I use for biking looks like the attached picture. Also lost a pair of little girl's white dress shoes when I took my daughter hiking out there to try and find the flashlight.
I checked around again last night and didn't see it...
This is totally OT, but...... Is there someplace to find out about all of the bike demos. I have been dying to try a few Transitions and didn't know about the demo (I will be really embarrassed if it was posted on Evergreen and I completely missed it)
