if you had to pare down a bike stable to 2 bikes what would it be?
i had my Enduro (do-it all bike), 29r hardtail (part time commuter, winter training bike), and DJ/Pump track bike.
I'm in the process of reassessing and rebuilding my stable. and with a 3rd kid on the way, storage space is at...
i'm headed to Asheville for a couple days next week. anyone around to ride/show me around? any good weekday shop rides that i should try to make?
i'm gonna have the M3 with me as well, gonna head west to run the Tail before I pack up and head home to DC.
I got time off from July 18-26...and the green light from wifey.
I am strongly considering checking off Whistler on my bucketlist. How is it in July? Dusty? Stable weather?
I assume everything is open (ie Top of the World) by then.

I'm all for 2-wheeled machines on trails, I do it all the time, on my KTM 200...and on approved OHV trails. I think these E-bikes are going to result in trail closures to MTBers and do more overall harm than good.
what are your collective thoughts on sizing for a 2015 Enduro 27.5?
I am 6'2", 33 inseam. Riding ability is somewhere between intermediate and advanced. Terrain/type of riding runs the gamut from 2-3 hr trail rides, all day epics, enduro racing, 1-2 x per month of lift served bike park or...
Since this subforum gets the most traffic and a fair number of you guys are from the NE / New England area...
Intel wanted on Berlin, VT just south of Montpelier. Good place to live? Cost of living? Thinking of applying for a job there.
Seems to be situated roughly equidistant from...
it looks increasingly likely i got one today when i came up short and cased a road gap hard. Rode out of it (somewhat) and layed it over because of the pain. Aside from my pride, my left ankle took the impact. From what I've read, it's a somewhat rare "sprain" but fraught with a very...
any monkeys here actually have some saddle time? luddites aside, everything i've read about the system has been favorable.
i'm eyeing the zesty or the spicy.

Seems like a great marketing job, at least to me. The Re:Aktiv damper sounds like it IS an inertial damper; relying on mass to move in order to open low resistance oil flow path to create...
headed out july 5-11 (or 12) with some buds in an RV for an East Coast tour. hitting up: Burke, Killington, Bromont, MSA, Highland. Any of you Monkeys gonna be up in those parts for some weekday riding? I'm pretty pumped about riding Bromont and MSA.
I think save Burke, all the other...
I'm looking to stay under $1500 for my next DH fork. and the Idylle Air came up on my radar as I can score one for a shade under $1500. My weak Google-Fu didn't turn up any meaningful reviews. Have any you monkeys have some time on one and care to share your experiences?
Thanks

I have been throwing around idea of buying a sub-2k dollar bike meant for easy pedalling recovery days, road/pavement/hardpack smooth dirt capable hardtail. Having just broken my collar bone, a rehab non-stationary trainer. A bike for pavement spinning after a rainy day where the trails r too...
anyone with long term use experience?
i'm currently running a frankenstein setup with XT levers, saint calipers, and goodridge brake lines. no matter how careful i bleed or have a competent shop bleed it, the rear always feels mushy. I've checked the fittings, and everything seems in...

Think you'd try it? I'm kinda on the fence about this one. Certainly a viable solution for folks that don't wear contacts...
After months of research and test drives. I narrowed down my choice of a luxury zippy commuter car to the 335i drive and the Audi S4.
Ultimately went with the Audi partly due to better stock performance. It would appear that Audi have improved reliability in the last 4-5 years. Their 2013 A6...
gonna be in whistler for a short 3 days in august. dont think i'm gonna bring my dh bike but choosing to rent. anyone know of any shops that rent V10s?
in my quest for my holy grail of trail bikes, I went from 26" FSR to ABP, then 29" VPP, and now...finally, arrived at the "just right" 27.5" VPP.
Presenting for your hate...2013 Santa Cruz Bronson C

anyone tried these for downhill use? my proposed setup is tubeless, lowest psi i run is 25. usually i'm between 25-30psi.
seems like a good idea, dual ply in the sidewalls where it counts, and single ply in the tread for better deformation. and an average loss of 100-200grams per tire...
