I like how some commentard there equiparated choosing 27.5 wheels to being a Trump supporter.
So 29" is the grown up and progressive choice, but Vital is in cahoots with a global conspiracy of marketing managers to push 27,5" so that exactly one company with plenty of 29ers in their line up can keep selling their 27,5" model. Makes perfect sense.

BRB, I just realized that given my progressive/socialist stance, I need to go chop my Orbea Rallón 27.5 to pieces in order to remain politically consistent.

Or you can give it to me and include $10K USD in the box and I can help support the local drug dealer and hookers and some other unlucky type folks.....

Check out Pinkbike - here comes the Nukeproof Mega's slayer. And it's called Giga! :D
They've held off releasing the leaked mullet version for now though? Both the Mega and Giga have a 297 model that has been shown in team vids and catalogue spy shots but hasn't been put up for sale yet.

Interesting - 26" must be wild then. And those 36" bikes... bloody socialists.

All of the above, really, ha ha.

The two hurdles to offering a standard mullet setup are:
- Low interest via number of inquiries
- Sourcing OEM mullet wheelsets is not easy, on top of sourcing any wheels at all in 2021 is not easy

It's still an option via the 27.5" Megatrail (155/165mm travel) or 27.5" Shred Dogg (130/140mm travel), and using the 29er zero stack lower headset cup with a 29er fork/wheel.

Since I'm *ahem* waiting for MegaTrail stays to go back up for sale... WAO was happy to build up a mixed wheelset when I inquired with them directly in the fall. Not the cheapest option, but it doesn't involve parts coming on a boat from Asia.

i have a question. if you can source 27.5" wheels and you can source 29"'wheels why is it a problem to not get some of each for a mullet bike??? are they really sold only as sets???

i'm not saying order wheelsets and mix and match, but does one have to order wheels as sets????
A quick spot check of Stan's, DT Swiss, and Industry Nine shows none of them are offering mullet wheelsets. I'm sure it'd be possible for a bike manufacturer to talk them into selling mullet wheelsets, but they'd almost certainly want a hefty minimum order size, which it I doubt GG would want to do if they really only get a limited number of inquiries about it.

am i not being clear? i'm talking about one order of 100 29" front wheels and another order of 100 27.5" rear wheels. or can places only order in sets?
I am assuming that the supply infrastructure was designed around pairs of wheels, part numbers, pricing, packaging etc. An OEM gets good pricing based on large orders of commodities. Custom orders are possible but you will lose the OEM pricing.

Why not sell everything minus the wheels if they are what is missing?
Or bring a local custom wheel builder on board that can supply these?
