So, I just got a brand new banshee legend mkII with the 2011 blue color scheme. I had a red rear DT hub that didnt really go with the frame color. Since Im running short on money for a new color maching hub, I decided to go the cheaper way and it turned out even better!
First step, start removing the paint with some fancy chemicals!
Step two, make sure the hub is clean of paint or grease and give it a light polish to make sure its nice and even.
Step three, mask it with duck tape and start applying the first coat of paint.
Give it three thin coats, make sure its even, then apply two or three layers of clear coat barnish and let it heal for at least 24 hours. Apply each layer every ten minutes from the first layer.
Step four, Remove duct take
Step five, Pimp it out
Step six, enjoy the final product!
The pictures were taken with my cel phone. Total time consumed : 5 hours more less. Total cost, not more than 30 bucks. Things used, universal paint remover, blue metalic chrome spray paint, clear coat barnish spray and a tooth brush to remove the melted paint from applying the paint remover. Hope it helps someone else!
