it's this exact car but in greenSpecs?
How in God's name did they fit 4 different transmissions in your car? That's asking for trouble if you want my opinion...* Manual transmission
* Standard fully synchronized 6-speed manual
* Automatic transmission
* Lineartronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) includes manual mode and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. 2.5i and 2.5i Premium: Optional. 2.5i Limited: Standard.

My commute is 34 miles each way with roughly half highway and half backroads. Of course tax season is coming up and when I leave the office after 8pm, my commute is much faster without traffic. The highway limit is 55 so I stick to 70 or under. As soon as I have to fill the tank i'll start tracking it better and let you know!I'm not sure what kind of commute you have or how fast you drive; I have the same engine with a conventional 5 speed and routinely averaged over 30 MPG at 65 MPH when I was commuting. I'd be curious to know what you think of the CVT - if we decide to go for a 2010 I'm going to keep my Outback and trade our Accord in.
Edit: you've also pasted every spec or combination of specs possible... I was just curious what trim level you chose.
Is the hitch for Phil? Is he going to have to run behind like in that Seinfeld episode. I will donate my megaphone so you can yell at him when he gets tired. Can you post a vid of that for us?
For you....I will do that!
i had a '09 Altima with a CVT and i thought it was okay for normal driving, but when you want to accelerate from stop or onto a highway, it stinks.Looks nice! I think the new body style will grow on me. How does it feel to drive a car with a CVT? (I prefer a manual, so the 6 speed option is the way I'd go).
I think the cvt has always been available in the high end 4cyl outback models. This is the first year they are standard in all models.i had a '09 Altima with a CVT and i thought it was okay for normal driving, but when you want to accelerate from stop or onto a highway, it stinks.
i dont know how reliable Subaru's CVT is, but Nissan has a ton of issues with theirs
edit: their cars have CVT's now?
yeah i just looked it up now...all models except the 6cylinder it seems.I think the cvt has always been available in the high end 4cyl outback models. This is the first year they are standard in all models.
I'm definitely noticing the difference in acceleration but I don't live in the mountains and I really don't need the power.

Like increased complexity and higher failure rate?yeah i just looked it up now...all models except the 6cylinder it seems.
they take a bit to get used to, but they do have their benefits
i was skeptical about Nissan's reliability in their CVT and i was proven correct with issues of knocking or banging coming from the tranny....and the letter i got from Nissan issuing a extended warranty on the tranny and reimbursement for any service done to it, proved my theoryLike increased complexity and higher failure rate?
**knock on wood** everything's great! I know there are a lot of people over there complaining about a steering wheel shake but luckily mine is good!MBC, any updates on the Outback? Any issues that have come up?
I've also been watching for updates over on subaruoutback.org, and was just curious...
