I think you are correct. he even appears to be running a 40 up front. with 650b wheels.Wasn't there a press release saying an Intense Sponsored WC team would be running 650b this season? SC-Intense I think...
i'm so tired of RC. He's worse than I am with the whole wheel thing. Pinkbike kiddies don't like big wheels, deal with it.Didn't you guys read what numb nuts RC said on Pinkbike about 650b?
"Fox insiders admitted that the low-ball time savings over a 2.5 minute course was 1.5 seconds, with many riders running significantly faster."

I wouldn't be surprised if the entire Men's podium at World Championships this year is on 650bIf it's PB kiddies, they will say it's the best thing since TLD gear once someone wins a round on them. FACT.
650B has me curious as well. I would love to know if there are any current or older DH frames that could be run 650b... MTBR has a whole thread listing all the 26" frames that can also be run with 650b but they are mostly XC/AM frames. They're are some differences. No adjustable dropout and they slackened the head angle cuz the larger tire requires a "trail angle steering ,thingy geometry change thing...".....I don't know about that stuff, you smart guys do.
I'm seriously considering the change. Both the Intense guys and KHS sound evangelists for the cause. They make a pretty convincing case.Just waiting for tires to catch up.
No. At least from the pics shown, the swingarm is/was differentAren't the current crop of M9s 650b compatible? I thought they were for some reason but I don't recall reading about it specifically anywhere.
Marketing! 26ers are dead, duhBoth the Intense guys and KHS sound evangelists for the cause. They make a pretty convincing case.Just waiting for tires to catch up.

when you KNOW the guys riding them and developing them, you tend to believe them.No. At least from the pics shown, the swingarm is/was different

marketing. you think theyd say how dumb they are even if you know them?when you KNOW the guys riding them and developing them, you tend to believe them.
Probably not. But I doubt they would also have them for their personal bikes if they were dumb.marketing. you think theyd say how dumb they are even if you know them?
Sir,marketing. you think theyd say how dumb they are even if you know them?
I've unfortunately spent more time on a 29er then a 650b but still have ridden a few....but I'm sure you'll have a diatribe about how many you are selling and how many championships have been won on one of your bikesSir,
Have you spent much time on 27.5" wheels?
I've ridden a few 650b bikes. I don't feel a big change over 26"I've unfortunately spent more time on a 29er then a 650b but still have ridden a few....but I'm sure you'll have a diatribe about how many you are selling and how many championships have been won on one of your bikes
No, there isn't as big of a difference like there is with a 29er which is why I find it annoying that mfg's are trying to claim itll help bring a end to the 26" wheel.I've ridden a few 650b bikes. I don't feel a big change over 26"
Hitchhiker: You heard of this thing, the 8-Minute Abs?
Ted: Yeah, sure, 8-Minute Abs. Yeah, the excercise video.
Hitchhiker: Yeah, this is going to blow that right out of the water. Listen to this: 7... Minute... Abs.
Ted: Right. Yes. OK, all right. I see where you're going.
Hitchhiker: Think about it. You walk into a video store, you see 8-Minute Abs sittin' there, there's 7-Minute Abs right beside it. Which one are you gonna pick, man?
Ted: I would go for the 7.
Hitchhiker: Bingo, man, bingo. 7-Minute Abs. And we guarantee just as good a workout as the 8-minute folk.
Ted: You guarantee it? That's - how do you do that?
Hitchhiker: If you're not happy with the first 7 minutes, we're gonna send you the extra minute free. You see? That's it. That's our motto. That's where we're comin' from. That's from "A" to "B".
Ted: That's right. That's - that's good. That's good. Unless, of course, somebody comes up with 6-Minute Abs. Then you're in trouble, huh?
[Hitchhiker convulses]
Hitchhiker: No! No, no, not 6! I said 7. Nobody's comin' up with 6. Who works out in 6 minutes? You won't even get your heart goin, not even a mouse on a wheel.
Ted: That - good point.
Hitchhiker: 7's the key number here. Think about it. 7-Elevens. 7 dwarves. 7, man, that's the number. 7 chipmunks twirlin' on a branch, eatin' lots of sunflowers on my uncle's ranch. You know that old children's tale from the sea. It's like you're dreamin' about Gorgonzola cheese when it's clearly Brie time, baby. Step into my office.
Ted: Why?
Hitchhiker: 'Cause you're ****in' fired!
Well, you are about the age bracket and injury list demographic. And I mean you can't deny the facts. When it comes to WC performance, KHS and Intense results speak for themselves. They're are some differences. No adjustable dropout and they slackened the head angle cuz the larger tire requires a "trail angle steering ,thingy geometry change thing...".....I don't know about that stuff, you smart guys do.

Ive done testing on 26/27.5/29 all on the same trail.
26 - 1:36:XX (My own personal bike)
27.5 - 1:33:XX (Test bike)
29 - 1:37:XX (Test Bike)Hey,knock it off with all the marketing hype!
How many hundreds of thousands do you have to gain out of this?!
You're what's wrong with the system,MAN!
Trying to convince all the sheeple to buy your brand new graphics year after year,MAN!
YOU should go up to Oregon this summer ,live in a van and actually RIDE your bike and be around nature for once in your life and get out of your corporate mindset!
You ever fvcked up a wheel riding your dh bike?Yeah yeah. Its just starting for DH,and they're the one starting it.
I ain't scared of innovation.
Remember that we are in the latter half of a 9 month off season. I know guys who have been testing them on their DH bikes since October, watch this space.Just ask any mfg why 650Bs are coming on strong and you'll see how it's marketing. If they were 3seconds faster then a 26", everyone on the WC circuit would have already made the switch
I don't doubt that but a 3 second gap is huge. You'd think the spandex wearing XC guys would have picked up on it first...especially since they embraced 29ers so wellRemember that we are in the latter half of a 9 month off season.
