Correct it is the same frame as the 8.8 just different linkage and
a steeper head angle. I got the frame and set it up as a dh rig.
I really like it! If you put an 8in fork it slackins out a little more.
I don't really notice the 66 head angle unless I am on a super steep
section!

yup, i am planning on getting the 08 and tossing my 888works on it to rally DH.

additionally, is it just a matter of swapping to a longer shock to make it an 8.8? or would i have to buy a linkage too?

What fork are you running?
What is the BB height? Can you also list the tires on the bike when you take the measurement.
