what material is that, 4130 chromoly?

that would of been hella fun to GTAW on.. depending on the thickness of the walls i would of used a thicker tungsten

would love to bounce ideas and questions to the welder of your frame (2% thoriated tungsten. , what polarity, size tungsten )

would be my dream to gtaw some frames

No offence but :rolleyes:

If you dont know what polarity is used to "GTAW"/TIG weld steel, then i really doubt you should be telling Doc what size tungsten he should be using.

good call.. i should have clarified "polarity"... obviously DC.. but either DC positive or reversed. im assuming positive ( DC reversed, as i was taught, has 70% heat in the tungsten, and 30% heat in the base metal... for really thin material )

your right, should not be questioning a highly trained tig welder

just curious with all my questions because i would love to tig up a frame
