I had the bike built the end of July and had been riding it, my scale was just packed up and didn't get out to RI until last week.
Bike weight 43.2 pounds.
I thought this was pretty interesting mainly because I wasn't "tainted" by the scale before I rode the bike, and my impressions were that the bike was light and very nimble (not that 43 pounds is heavy).
The build was pretty straightforward:
'06 Izimu - large
Swinger (Steel Spring)
Fox 40 RC2 (Ti Spring)
Howitzer/Holzfellers w/38T Ring and E13
Mavic 721's on Marz. 20mm, Azonic 150mm, and 2.0 DTs
2.5 Minions with 2.7 Maxxis DH Tubes
Hayes HFX
Cane Creek S1 HS
Pro Taper OS bars
Thomson X50
X9 drivetrain
ODI's
Thomson post
SDG BelAir Ti saddle
545 pedals
That's about it. I'm sure I could take off at least a pound in the wheels if I went tubeless and used DB spokes. Other than that, I'm not sure what else I would change. Revox with a Ti spring? I thought about going back to a Shimano drivetrain, but not sure about the weight gain/savings.
Ultimately, I think the bike rides great - so maybe I won't change anything!
