i have a few saved that i read every so often to get a good laugh....though anymore emails might be hard because.......I am sure we will all get private messages from the big man on the mountain for posting in this thread though
Except Boba Fett, he blew up the Sarlacc with a thermal detonator and managed to crawl out and was later saved by Dengar. But its just rumor....word has it that jabba's floating desert barge crashed into the sarlacc pit and everyone died.
Thats a fantastic memory, because Diablo opened in 2003. The prior operation ended in 2000, so no 2001 or 2002.sad to see them go....
yet on the other hand, maybe it's time, i remember when they started back in 2001. it was an ambitious/enthusiastic trail crew who served up well maintained trails. and shawn at the beginning few years didn't ruffle feathers with the operation. last few seasons...it's been alittle crappier, and crappier. the intrawest bankruptcy and new owner realignment to focus on winter operations along with this past seasons crazy weather; the flooding, trees down, mud, and horrendous erosion, i think, was the nail in the coffin.
it's always bad to see lift served dh places close, so i hope this rumor isn't true.

jeez, so i was off a few years...i started going there sometime when i was in school (2001-2005). i like riding there, i go there at least once a month when i visit my folks. i don't want to see it close either, but ridership has declined, trail maintenance is inconsistent, shawn burning some bridges, and a resort management that is intensely focused on winter operations at the expense of bike park development.Thats a fantastic memory, because Diablo opened in 2003. The prior operation ended in 2000, so no 2001 or 2002.
Id love to see the place change management, but not close.

Technically Neelah found him first, but then it was Dengar who saved him.nerd++
DAS wall and down is done, leveled, the progression drops, the DAS wall, the sram berm and tabletop, all gone, so even if they do find a new owner they are dealing with less elevation than highland, with no trail crew or dirt. As their biggest local, im not exactly bummed about the situation-although i would 100% support and give the new owners a chance, no reason to hold the location to the original idiot that owned it.demo9, can you elaborate on the construction of the coaster and the loss of trails due to it? didnt get a chance to make it there last year and have been out of the loop
The us open was diablo's attempt to recreate a world cup since the uci didnt recognize the mountain and its race events due to the managements refusal to deal with usac.If they close can the US OPEN move to another mtn or do they own that event?
but but but, the diablo series is so cool, 5 people enter, i even get to race pro uncontested! The us open was diablo's attempt to recreate a world cup since the uci didnt recognize the mountain and its race events due to the managements refusal to deal with usac.

yes, and others who have tried got denied. if u used a credit card go to them ASAP, diablow wont refund you anything, they just mark the messages as SPAM, if any of you are lawyers feel free to have fun with this 1, selling season passes to a mtn that probably wont open...Are you guys being serious? I was gonna try DH for the first time this season at Diablo... I even bought a season pass a few days ago. Should I try and get my money back now? Do you think they'll refund me if the park doesn't open?
I just filed a dispute with my credit card company. I guess I won't be riding Diablo this year...yes, and others who have tried got denied. if u used a credit card go to them ASAP, diablow wont refund you anything, they just mark the messages as SPAM, if any of you are lawyers feel free to have fun with this 1, selling season passes to a mtn that probably wont open...

well ud better hope that the park opens and u loose 70, better than it not opening at all. This is the first year i didnt buy a season pass in the last 6 years... If i am wrong (which is the best scenario) ill gladly buy it opening day.I just filed a dispute with my credit card company. I guess I won't be riding Diablo this year...
And if you guys turn out to be wrong about the park closing, you just cost me the $70 savings from getting the pass early!
Oh man I'm still praying you guys are wrong. I'm still looking forward to hopefully checking this place out.well ud better hope that the park opens and u loose 70, better than it not opening at all. my thought is that it probably wont open THIS YEAR. i do think it will re-open, probably under a different name. I hope it does, and hope that somebody can undo the 4 years of neglect on the trail system. 70 bucks isnt much for "insurance" during the scheme of my riding season, by the time i finish in the fall im sure my rate is near 5 bucks a day.Oh man I'm still praying you guys are wrong.
