This year the Colón Theater in Buenos Aires should bring Return of the Jedi with the philharmonic orchestra, I already went to A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back as birthday presents from my wife. They bring them every other year. It's really an amazing thing to watch.
Ooo.... I haven't seen a Star Wars movie like this, but we saw Raiders with the local philharmonic a couple years back and it was legitimately kind of amazing.

Our local philharmonic schedule just came out and there is a New Hope concert on it. We bought season tickets.

Hell yeah, you're in for a treat! It's a wonderful experience, usually with the local 501th Legion branch putting some short shows before the concert begins and at the intermezzo.

Namely, at Empire Strikes Back, when we got back into the concert hall after the intermezzo, a bunch of stormtroopers jumped from the side boxes into the center court, and began running between the seat rows as if they were looking for something. I had these two kids sitting next to me, and I was sitting next to the center aisle. When a stormtrooper pointed his blaster at me I looked at him and said "these aren't the kids you're looking for" while waving my hand at him. He immediately squared up, called the other stormtroopers near him, and told them to go look elsewhere. The look in the eyes of those kids made my day! They started saying to their father "dad, this man made the bad guys go away!!!"

In other news, I already have my ticket for Return of the Jedi! It'll be on April 30! :monkeydance:

The Acolyte.....

Watched the first two episodes, not too sure what to think about it yet.

Doesn't have the old school "Lucas" feel for sure, more like a rushed barebones Netflix series akin to The Expanse. I know it's supposed to be around 100 years before episode 1, but it seems very detached due to Disneys departures and creative freedoms. The casting is interesting and vast, with some nods to the lesser-known characters such as droids and historic mentions but not very easy to follow on any timeline. Not much symmetry or flow, jumps all over the place between character development and storylines, I found it a bit distracting.

Special effects are seemingly a bargain bag of Star Trek, Aliens, and Marvel/DC leftovers, it is definitely lacking industrial light and magic legacy. The cinematography is very plain and predictable and the color grading is very mono and dark almost grey scale. Editing has a ton of jump cuts with corny transitions and clearly no collaboration with the process.

They do however do a pretty good job of delving into the force and its possibilities that really haven't been discussed or shown as of yet but explained or shown in some corny ways. It seems like they just reused set designs from the Mandalorian and obi wan rather than creating something fresh.

It's hard to find a Character to latch onto or find semblance in just yet, maybe that will change down the road in future episodes but for now the viewer is simply along for the ride without any real attachments and all the characters seem to have equal direction.

Not sure if there are any animated series backstories that tie into this storyline as I haven't watched any animated stuff but it seems very detached.
