Sorry boys but Duncan doesn't stand a chance against the WC elite. But look on the bright side, Americans dominate snowboarding and NASCAR. That's it I think. We make a great burger too!
Like a few guys mentioned, Duncan is doing fantastic for being on a shoestring budget, traveling around the globe pretty much solo, and competing against riders with better everything. I applaud his passion to race his bike and ability to always have a good time.

HAHAHHA

1 2 Villopoto, Ryan USA AMA Kawasaki 36:14.798 16 0:00.000 0:00.000 2:05.829 1 43.83
2 9 Ramon, Steve BEL FMB Suzuki 36:39.430 16 0:24.632 0:24.632 2:07.238 3 43.34

How old was Ryan then? Oh James won also.

1 1 Carmichael, Ricky USA AMA Suzuki 36:41.390 16 0:00.000 0:00.000 2:11.357 4 42.64
2 3 Ferry, Tim USA AMA Kawasaki 36:53.138 16 0:11.748 0:11.748 2:13.241 3 42.42

See that 11 second gap between 1st and 2nd. Yeah we suck pretty bad.

Cycling yeah sure. but MX,SX we have the upper hand.
We have our fair share of MXDN wins, but I'd say A LOT more foreigners come over to our series (SX and MX) and do well, vs Americans going to race GP's doing well.

It was only ~10 yrs ago when as a whole america ruled gravity, all these riders on podiums or winning week in, week out.
(Myles, King, Cully, Lopes, Missy, Leigh D, Elke B, Voreis, Palmer, Carter, Streb, Mercedes G, etc...)

In time, we will be back I think...as soon as there is some money feeding the riders, that was the main stimulus back then to have americans risking their lives ;)

Why the **** are all of you being so negative about Duncan Riffle. This is terrible. Duncan is in Europe for a while along with Brad Benedict, for the World Cup series thats why he wouldnt fly home for the US open, not because he wouldnt do well. Duncan is an outstanding downhill racer and i dont see why all of your are being negative nancy's about him. A 12 place in africa is a great result for that track. All of you should grow some balls and be proud of our American racer

Alot of you guys are a bit sensitive aren't you? I imagine Soul-Skiers comment was firmly tongue in cheek. Besides you should just get used to being rubbish at DH, us Brits accepted a long long time ago that we're **** at the sports we claim to have invented :P

He's better off spending his time racing in Europe anyway.....

This list made me feel so nostalgic. So many names here that were heroes of mine.
