Agree but getting simple cars is that really possible any more if we are talking about even 10 year old cars?

I think the last simple car I had was a 90s Ford Escort wagon which really had nothing in the car. Funny thing is which with no extras no power just a radio and an automatic then the damn speedometer did not work past 55 mph :)

Yah - even the "simple" cars aren't really that simple any more I suppose. And my newest car is already 10 years old. I'm annoyed 'cause the damned thing has electric doors... those are gonna fail and cost a fortune to fix.

if you are looking for a simple car see my post. ;)
i have done all the work myself on my car & it really hasnt needed too much...alternator, thermostat, brakes, belts, just hte usual **** that goes wrong. I have even replace some beat up body work with ebay parts.

I am not sure how the ford-era volvos are but the fact that ford bought them at some point scares me.
