It is a website with powerful computer software that practices mind control on poor little cyclists. It makes people sprint full speed at pedestrians and forces mountain bikers to aim squarely for a hikers nuts.Strava?
What makes you think we're not already doing so?Damn, now how am I going to track my commute??
somebody rep him for that^^I know that a lot of people use these tracking apps but I just don't understand why. One of the main reasons I go riding is to clear my mind and get away from computers, e-mails, social media, and all that other bs that makes life more complicated.
Ride your bike, get yourself lost, find your way back, drink beer, repeat.
I wholeheartedly agree. I have to say that when I was racing DH, a moto timer on the handlebar helped keep me honest; but then as I shifted it over to using it on my trail bike it did pollute the "fun" aspect. Since I swapped school for racing, I put away the timer and never felt better on those head clearing rides.I know that a lot of people use these tracking apps but I just don't understand why. coveredsomebody rep him for that^^
if he can't pedal up what you created he has no business riding down it.Edit: Even if he is a bandy-legged lift boy...
Hey now, there is nothing wrong with being a "bandy-legged lift boy" once in a while.covered

That part of it will wear off quick. I think the coolest aspect of it is clicking on other riders on the list and seeing which routes and loops they take. I have ridden all kinds of new stuff and/or better loops because of it.I now know the addiction. Did my first trail ride last night using Strava. Being on that list of riders who you know is the addiction. The cheezy little quips from the software to motivate you...not so much.
Knowing is half the battle. What I like about Strava is confirmation that I am perhaps the slowest road rider in central Connecticut.
I like that I can do a charity ride, "hammer" it at a hard pace, then see that I am ranked 87/95 on the entire route segment.Knowing is half the battle.
