I have SRAM Elixir 5 disc brakes on my bike and I need new rotors. Below is a photo of the front rotor. It’s listed as an HS1 with a 170 diameter. The back has an HS1 160 and I can find those almost anywhere but the 170 on the front are like 5x more expensive. Does anyone know if I can use a different SRAM 170 rotor?

1 - Thanks for the clarification but SRAM/Avid are one in the same aren’t they??

2- I tried buying brake pads from my LBS and the kid helping me couldn’t do anything at all and made no effort to be of assistance.

170's aren't common, might be easier to remove the caliper adapter and just drop to another 160mm on the front. Should be fine if you're just hitting Stewart. Otherwise go for a 180mm rotor with appropriate new adapter.

Those are SRAM's old rotor design, any new one would likely be a centerline, perfectly compatible with your Elixir's.
e.g.

Hey @Nick, if you've a pile of Elixir pads and stosh doesn't want them LMK what you've got.
