this maybe BS but soy protein contains phytoestrogen (a plant form of estrogen), which can inhibit muscle building, like estrogen. what effect phytoestrogen has on soy protein usefullness over say whey protein i don't know? hopefully someone who knows more can shed better light on it.

ps hope this isn't complete off the track!

Instead of soy protien i use whey protien. I just find that the whey protien gives better resaults. A couple meatheads at the local gym explained it like this:

Soy protien: is a good source for people that don't get enough protien in their diets. (ie. people who don't eat meat)

Whey protein: is used for people who want to add muscle mass and already get some protien via diet. The whey protien has different protien chains that burn at different rates and give a nice steady flow of protien to the muscles.

I am by no means an expert so i hope someone else can chime in.
