For those of you not in the know, i got the Cancer of the Testicular kind. Not as much fun as an alien abduction. If you are a guy between the ages of 15-40, and you feel a weird lump on the balls, or you notice more extreme discomfort, or you have a testicle wanting to grow to the size of produce you see at the local supermarket, and even feel an unusual level of lower back pain, then it's time to get your ass to the doctor.
40 years ago this was a death sentence, now it's one of the most survivable forms of Cancer you can get.
My tumor was really aggressive and there was serious concern initially that it could have spread, and that's where things get tricky. i was truly lucky and i certainly feel blessed to report that the prognosis is that i've kicked cancers ass.
i am returning to riding with a renewed vigor as this has been a lesson when you got through something like this.
And i certainly hope by reading this, that everyone steps up a little notch in awareness of their own health, and through that celebrate life. As there are certainly more trails to ride for all of us in the future we are afforded.
