does anybody know what the silver bolt is for? I can't figure out...

It is a spare bolt, DOX knows his stuff. That stock photo is incorrect.

cheers!!! btw, I took the photo from the Chainreactioncyles webpage as the gold bolts were already mounted on the chainguide, so I do not know what they did with it

I would laugh, but I have spent an afternoon hiking around looking for my own parts.......... Then to find out the guide pulley was on backorder, the parts tree was only available in white and a "hardware kit" was needed if I wanted a new integrated nut. So I bought a new one because it wasn't much more money and in stock. Then I promptly put the steel bolt in.
