THE United States is abandoning its role as the global champion of human rights.

I love how people think the US has ever had a great human rights record. Whenever we have been at war it has been nasty.

How many women and children do you think we killed during the Vietnam War? What about during the Firebombing of Dresden and Tokyo? In Hiroshima and Nagasaki do you think civilians were spared?

Compared to past conflicts Afghanistan and Iraq have been pretty tame.
