How do you guys make labels for your beer? Tips? Websites? Special paper used to help stop condensation from messing them up? Let me know.

I've heard that laser-jet printed labels don't run. I rarely made labels, but when I did I had luck with my ink-jet and a matte sealer from a hobby shop.

I went from hand drawn cool ones (before I had a color printer) stuck on with homemade paste, to printed ones, to just saying, "fvck it."

I just have to clean the labels off for the next batch. I currently have five gallons of tastey red ale in the first carboy and a few 22 oz. bottles left of the last batch... Now I just have to find my Ridemonkey pint glasses....

best college project i ever had was designing a label for a now defunct local brewery out near Cumberland, MD. Awesome field trip. Lots of beer.

Living the dream.
I've used plain sheets of label paper, laserjet printer, the old labels come right off with a soak. Lately I don't bother unless I'm gifting them.

Yeah these are for gifts. We did a 5 gallon red-amber ale. It is pretty good, especially for a first batch. We did the dual glass carboys.

Any better ideas on materials? What about the sticker printer paper?

you have a few options... first, just print out the design on regular paper brush some whole milk on the back put on bottle & let dry. (this really does work) check out this www.says-it.com look for official seal. or the best way is find a local print shop that prints on clear plastic sticker sheets. this way is a little more expensive but the results are great. the first two ways work but the paper will shrink when the bottle cools / warms. the plastic stickers are worth it.

We brew two 5 gallon batches every year for holiday gifts (my family's full of drunks, what can I say?) and get our labels from www.BottleYourBrand.com These guys do amazing work. They have templates you can use or you can design a custom label for your beer.

We've tried printing our own (always a disaster for us) and using other companies but BYB is the best label source we've found so far. Good luck with your labels!

That would be cool, however I am broke because of medical bills. So I am looking to do this as budget as possible. I already have one label made, I just need to print it on something.

We used to take the "adult playing cards" and stick them on with rubber stickum. Then you could peel them off, clean them in hot water, Bob's your uncle.

And it involved porn, which made me happy.
