As service kits for the original RC2 FIT cartridge are vanishing around the globe I was thinking about buying a up-to-date cartridge and simply install it into my flawless 2009 TALAS-to-FLOAT converted bastard 36. Fox has an upgrade feature on their website which tells me that the "Inverted FIT RC2 cartridge 820-08-127-kit" would be compatible. Problem is I can't find that kit nowhere on the whole interwebbz.

So maybe somebody has done this or can at least enlighten my poor self about the differences or compatibility issues with even newer FIT RC2 cartridges. I was thinking about simply buying this and be happy again and forever. The available drawings lead to no visible changes, esp. regarding top cap and extruding part of the shaft at the bottom.

Any ideas?

Seriously though, just call them - they'll sell you the cartridge directly and you can sometimes get the older ones on closeout (at least in the US).

I think Avalanche might offer an upgrade cart...at a price. But their stuff has been worth it IMHO, and if it breathes life into an old fork it might be cheaper than something new.
