Well, I tried to find an old thread I started about how my armor saved me, but I had no luck finding it, so here goes another one:
Yesterday, it was about 500 degrees here in the Dirty South, and here are a a couple of quotes I said and one that was said to me while we were shuttling.
"It is too damn hot to be wearing all this armor."
"What is worse, a heat stroke or a broken bone?"
"Hey, I bet you are regretting that big old moto helmet about right now, huh?"
Right after that last one was said, I took off down Windrock for another run.
In a fast straightaway, my front tire hit something and it turned by bars enough to throw me straight over and onto my shoulder really hard, I bounced off of my shoulder and then wrapped around a big tree backwards like a horseshoe, with my head hitting the tree first followed by my spine protecter.
My shoulder and helmet hit hard.
Here is the cool part, I dusted myself off and rode to the bottom.
I know for an absolute fact that I would have been seriously injured without all my gear on.
In one crash, I used my shoulder cup, bicep pad, elbow pad, helmet, spine protecter, and knee pad!
I had on a Fly lite II moto helmet, the 04 661 pressure suit, and the 661 race knee/shin pads.
Today, all I have is a sore shoulder, sore abs, and small scrap on my knee.
So, in conclusion, wear ya stuff when ya ride it rough!!
(this saying can also apply to other activities and group functions  )

True words. I always find new gashes and dents in my armor after a weekend of riding. On the hill I aways wear full armor.
