I had it all figured out a couple weeks ago, lemme find out... I know a bunch of them are gone but there's still some nice ones there.

I'd be wary of that deal. And here's why.

When it says the three main tubes are chromo, that means the rear triangle is high-ten steel. That means that you're going to have twisting, bending and cracking issues the second you start going kind of big. I'd save my $$ and find something with a full chromoly frame and fork.

Exactly what I was thinking.

I broke several hi-ten frames when I was 10 years old weighting 75 lbs. Add 100 lbs to that and the confidence to go bigger..........

I do know that the Fit completes, though made in Taiwan, are full chromo. The only thing to consider is that those bikes are made for "beginners" and younger people, so the top tube length is pretty short - I'm thinking like 20" I would definitely look at that before I buy.

Even if it has 1 piece cranks, those are easily upgradeable - unlike the frame or even a fork.

As far as complete bikes, you might also look at Free Agent's line of Rick Thorne's signature models. I think they have them at several price points.

Lastly, GT doesn't automatically equal crap, especially in their higher end. That frame's geometry and everything is spot on. They just don't use the best materials throughout.

The series one is sorta meant more for beginners. It does come in a 20" top tube. I would order from either Empire or Albes. Albes will let you spec your own bike if you want. You can get some pretty good deals on a couple of Fly bikes from albes (complete). They have some hoffmans as well. Volume might be another company youd like to check out. They make a couple reletively inexpensive complete bikes.

GT = Gone Tomorrow.

that's what we used to always say anyways. 'cause if you got one today, it'd be gone/broke tomorrow.:D

their higher end frames are much better then their lower end stuff though, for sure.

GT actually stands for Gary Turner if anyone really cares........

The three tube Cro-mo is a strike against the bike. I do, however, like the fact that everything on the bike is sealed. Maybe I'll just get it, ride it till I break the frame and get a nice frame ala Eastern or Standard or something.

Kink!

You know what? PM Instigator. He has a brand f*ckin' new Kink Cielenki that he can't ride because of his knee injury. Last I heard he was looking to sell it at a completely ludicrous price. Nothing to upgrade on that bike.

Hey dude, I see you post quite a bit. You ride BMX and MTB,
quite well I gather too. What's your story? How old are you?
Did you race BMX as a kid? Where in Virginia do you live? Do
tell!

My story, oh Gawd......It started in Illinois, at Hazel Crest Hospital on November 8, 1973. I was born to a single mother.......... :D

Anyway, yeah, I raced BMX for 17 years , turned expert at 8, and spend some time on the Schwinn factory team and several "local (to Chicago)" teams. My mom has pictures of me at age 7 on my MCS Mini Mantis clearing doubles. I haven't raced SERIOUSLY for 8 years or so, I've done a couple races here and there, but no more chasing points anymore. Having Craig Reynolds as one of my riding buddies growing up definitely helped push me do get better, faster, smoother on a daily basis :thumb: . Yeah, I guess you could say I can ride.

I live between Richmond and Charlottesville in the boonies. Been trying to get people to come out and work some dirt jumps on my 5.25 acres cause I'm too damn lazy to do it by my self.

UPDATE ON THE BIKE.

Nothing. I gots me some $$$ to spend, I just gotta find the right ride.

Wanna buy my LG. Bullitt, with a dual-crown Sherman?
I need to get rid of it by Spring! Make an offer. I'd have to
hook up an old BMXer! Ever race at Cool-Tool? Or hear of
the track, (and team)? I raced a lot in the early eighties...

Large Bullit??? Dude, I stand at a whopping, towering 5'6".

I remember team Cool-Tool. Wasn't Cunningham part of that team for a while?

I wish I still had my Hutch Pro Racer.

Cunningham? Richie from Happy Days?
No, he wasn't, but I was! Jud Ciancio?
Who did you race against, that is still rippin
on a MTB? Mike King? Lopes? Do you remember me?
(Hahaha) You were pretty young then.
I have a nice trophy still, from Fairfax, VA.
Rained so hard they set up a temporary track,
I shat you not!, in a grass field! An NBL national!
Someone hastily built wooden jumps, and there
were very deep puddles! Ahhhh yes. The good old days.

I do...wanna buy that? (24") Still has my #1 plate on it.
I just put it out in my shed, after looking at it everyday
in my garage. Looked pretty gay next to my Santa Cruz!
It's starting to rust. We were co-sponsored by Hutch,
so it was basically Toby Henderson's bike. 'Cept it has
DD Leones seatpost clamp.! Make an offer! Bills to pay!

King is a little older than me, as is Lopes, and Craig, and Carter....... I think Todd Lyons should make the move to MTB.

I can't really think of anyone that was in my age bracket in Expert that's still killing it.

I really need a 20" for the skatepark. I wanna get back on the halfpipe  .
