So am I the only one that thinks using the word "porn" to talk about bikes is getting a bit played out?

Anyway... this thing's taken me forever to build. Between waiting months for the frame and running out of money twice while ordering parts (even with QBP prices) I finally got it up and running. I'll post more of a review later, but from the riding I've done so far (dirt jumping at DeLa, Aptos, Shells, Marin) it's definately a rad bike... super stiff and responsive. I'll admit riding it is still a bit sketchy, partly because the frame's smaller than what I'm used to, but mainly because I haven't ridden anything less than a downhill bike for the last few years. Anyway, I'll try to get some action shots soon.

Are you gonna ride that sweet beasty on UC trails sometimes now instead of the Yeti or is it reserved for DJ's? I think that bike could be faster once you get used to the quick geo. very purdy!

Actually, saturday I'm going to try to make it to the slalom race at sandhill. You should come out if you're looking for something to do.

Yeah for sure... haven't taken it on trails yet but I intend to. On some of the slower/tighter UC stuff the Yeti is like trying to drive a bus down a sidewalk.

No, that is a bike. This is hot sex. Note the difference.

(just messing... thanks for the complement)

HA! That's great. If you saw me you'd understand why it's up high... let's just say I'm not exactly short.

That bike is totally set up. Trust me, I got to stare at it on my living room floor for at least a month.

Here's some quik details about it.

1. 911 got it delivered straight from Germany on the back of a donkey. That's why it took so long to get here.

2. They actually sent out 3 frames, but the first two donkey's got lost or drowned on the way here.

3. The donkey chewed on the derailler hanger, which got bent, so he had to wait for some new ones before he could put the wheels on.

4. It came with the brakes completely dis-assembled.

5. Our other friend we have nicknamed "dangerous" jumped on it without the prior knowledge that the brakes didn't work yet, and came into the drive way at mach2 only to run directly into my house. CLASSIC.

6. 911 looped out while wheely-ing the bike even though he knew the brakes didn't work... and thusly scraped up his knees.

7. Apparently not learning his lesson from the first time, he promptly looped out again and scraped his arm while attempting to prove that manualing it could be done without brakes.

8. A fun time was had for all, because we all basically put it together for 911, in an effort to see it as a finished product, instead of a pile of parts in a box. :D

...and he was never permitted to touch it again.

Uh... yeah so apparently the chainstays are a tad shorter than a yeti dh9 (understatement)

Um... did I mention those short chainstays? ... ok I'm an idiot.

...because it was finals week and I had a sh|t storm of work to do. But yeah, thanks.

Yeah... sram makes a trigger shifter that works with shimano mechs. I'd rather have run a sram der. (I love the X.O. on my yeti) but I got an ultegra for super cheap.

dude, I got harped on for a 90mm stem on my XC bike today...I was told it was really long! I am 5' 10" and actually climb my bike. remember the good ole days when 120mm was standard and 130mm was a bit long?

I think people commenting on the stem/post lengths are missing the fact that Aaron is like 6'8"
I hope that frame is at least a large, otherwise it just has to be faaaar to small, right?! I'm like 6'4", I've sat on a medium UFO before and I thought it was really tiny for my length.. I think you had better asked Kalle Nicolai himself what he would have suggested, because Nicolai frames do fall out quite small.

He's the only guy I know who can make a 26" wheel look like a 20"
