cranks. 1 guy i saw with a set of profiles (no spider) i saw another guy with what looked like 2 lowend shimano non-drive side crank arms.bcd said:do they have cranks or pegs at the bb?
do people actually do this??? you have got to be kidding please someone!buildyourown said:I was at whistler yesterday. i saw several people with the "flintstone" setup. no drivetrain, not even a spider on the drive-side crank. if i was riding whistler every other day, i'd do it to. i couldn't afford to keep buying der and shifters. the market is ready for an internal
sorry for the bad typing, i broke my hand
i've seen chainless riders there occasionally, yes. i've always assumed it was the result of a same-day mechanical. i dont really understand how people are destroying drivetrains, though; i ride there regularily & have never had a drivetrain issue...manhattanprjkt83 said:do people actually do this??? you have got to be kidding please someone!
When I was there last fall saw at least ten-15 people riding with no chain.. No chainrings either.manhattanprjkt83 said:do people actually do this??? you have got to be kidding please someone!
If your running a drivetrainless bike it seems that pegs would be the way to go. I wonder if they could cause clearance issues when cornering with drastic lean angles?bcd said:do they have cranks or pegs at the bb?
wehen i went up there last summer, i snapped my derailer in half the 3rd out of 7 days...rode the rest of the week with nothing spinning...only really sucked when i had to go up to b-line or those trails up there...buildyourown said:I was at whistler yesterday. i saw several people with the "flintstone" setup. no drivetrain, not even a spider on the drive-side crank. if i was riding whistler every other day, i'd do it to. i couldn't afford to keep buying der and shifters. the market is ready for an internal

I think that would be the issue. With a set of crankarms you can still put your weight on the outside pedal, pushing it down, with the inner one up higher, so no worrying about scraping it. You lean a bike more than a dirtbike, and you're lower to the ground too...Westy said:If your running a drivetrainless bike it seems that pegs would be the way to go. Its a mulit year project. worked on 1st gen prototypes over the winter. e.thirteen is going to concentrate on chain retention systems for the time being.davod said:So when's the ethirteen thing (was it superboxx?) supposed to be coming out?
DW isnt this thing on the back burner for the forseeable future? Is it something we will eventually see?dw said:Its a mulit year project. worked on 1st gen prototypes over the winter. e.thirteen is going to concentrate on chain retention systems for the time being.
