I just bought a VP free by Santa Cruz and was confused on what I would need to do to change out the rear shock. It has the fifth element and I'd prefer to throw something better in there. Where I get confused is what size do I need? Also andybody change out to the roco or DHX on a vP free with an opinion?

You could always send the 5th off to Avalanche for a rebuild. Probably cheaper than buying something else.

The Avy upgrade is definitely worthwhile.

I had that done on one of my shocks and it was GREAT. It is like a hole new shock.
