Can't help ya on the first one, but if you're lookin for a good lingerin hole, cruise down Holly til ya get to the Waterfront. If you're hangin at the waterfront, good things will come your way.
Sudden Valley is dark and damp in the winter and just plain too far from town to walk/ride/stumble home in the dark. You can find smaller and less expensive houses out there but the values aren't that great. Anywhere on Lakeway is really an easy pedal to the Birch street access for Galbraith. If you have a car then anywhere in town is 10 minutes away. It's really easy to get around town on a bike too.
What are you looking for for housing? Room mates in a college house, buying cheap, going big? The bars are fairly easy to find but B'ham has made it hard to keep them open. The Up&Up for beer, Cap Hansens if you have a fixie and a mustache, Jalepenos for Big Mamas (a good thing), Boundary Bay Brewery or Chuckanut Brewery for micro brews, The Royale for thugs and dancing, Poppe's for cougars, the Nightlight for live music. You'll find a couple that you like, there are some more that I didn't list but you get the idea.
I'm also planning on moving to Bellingham by the end of the year and I would love to get some insight on the area and possibly reach out and make some connections in the area! Thanks.
Hello BHamsters! Could you help a brother-in-dirt out with some apartment suggestions? I'm just looking for a decent place to get started with in March for a few months onward when I also plan to move to Bellingham!
If you know of a privately owned/managed space without the corporate shenanigans that needs a no-headache tenant, that would be the hookup that won't go unnoticed. I'm a well behaved individual who merely pays rent, does not unnecessarily bother, watches out for my neighbors, and plans on being an asset (not a burden) to the local riding community.
All right... I'm here chillin' out at a friend's house and trying bigtime to find a decent, small place near the center of town. Anyone out there own anything? Know someone who wants to find a quality tenant?
Help!
(KNTR, I'd be plenty cool with renting from you later on when you guys work out a house swap.)

Thanks EB... I got setup with a nice little place. I noticed the "machine built" thread on here as well and that is totally amazing. About one more week of getting our lives out of the chaos of the move and I can come out and meet some people/do some diggin'. STOKED to be here!
