Anyone have experience with the gravity and "all-mountain" (per Mavic's website) rims? I'm guessing the 828 is discontinued and 1028 is new.

I've been running DT Swiss for my past few wheelsets, but it would be nice to save a few bucks for my new DH wheels. I haven't paid much attention to Mavic since the 521/823 days, and it doesn't seem like anyone else has, either. Decent weight, a welded seam, and eyeletted spoke holes seem legit enough though.

Thoughts?

Dunno what your pricing is like over there but here the new Mavic 1028 isn't really any cheaper than a high end DT Enduro/DH/FR rim. Then with new Mavic rims obviously having less real world feedback/testing I know where my money'd be going.

It's a shame Mavic chose to stick with their old ideas/designs for so long and that they ended up going into recievership and bought by another company before finally releasing a new mtb rim. too little too late? dunno.
