The Sheldon Brown site has a listing on how to do this, the guy doing it also mentions how he highly discourages it as well, and that he was only doing ot from demand.

He went into some explanaition whyit was a bad idea, more than just mismatched spoke holes

You can do it by leaving 2 opposing holes on each hub flange open and playing with the spoke length.

I did it once when I had access to a spoke cutter. It didn't look very good, and was a pain in the arse.

I'd imagine if it did work you'd end up with a weak spot on the rim that would cause it to go untrue really easy. So truing the wheel constantly or buying a new rim. Time vs. Money

It *can* be done, just don't expect it to last as long as a proper wheel.

Omit one of each: drive side leading, drive side trailing, non drive leading, non drive trailing.

But good luck on the spoke lengths.
