I'll take Jackson please, not sure if anyone watches UFC but yeah. He is going to win by a knockout.
I'll take Liddell. Unless he loses in which case I'll say I took Jackson.
i'll say the same only in reverse.I'll take Liddell. Unless he loses in which case I'll say I took Jackson.
Unlike your avatar ...... hopefully you didnt get a call to move them out of the road.but he sure doesn't like the camera...very shy at times.
damn...........Rampage decked Liddell. The counter hook put Liddell to the floor but it was one of the punches on the ground which put him out.
Good fight. Karo Parisyan was a better one.
yesterday was a monumental day for MMA...first time it's been covered on sportscenter (mainstream)...it was also weird seeing the post-fight stats...they even talked about it on around the horn too...I was waiting to see it and Sports Center had it on last night! Wow, UFC on Sports Center, that speaks volumes for how well it fared compared to boxing title fights.
I still want to see the fight. I also am looking forward to Karo's fight as well.
From the highlights, there will be an ugly rematch. If Chuck gets beat again, I don't see anyone else beating Jackson at 205 anytime soon.
MMA is now bona-fide. And while i was a little suprised to see the mainstream coverage, i wasn't overly so. The absolute failure of Boxing to provide any worthwhile matches, Hockey's failure to provide a worthy product, and Basketball and Baseball being mediocre the timing is perfect for MMA to fill the void.yesterday was a monumental day for MMA...first time it's been covered on sportscenter (mainstream)...it was also weird seeing the post-fight stats...they even talked about it on around the horn too...
Don't insult the mods on here, you'll find ya'self banned right quick.at least all the uneducated people in America that think MMA is just a bunch of babboons beating each other to a bloody pulp will catch a clue and understand the skill and intelligence it takes to be a top contender in this sport...hopefully...I think I'm giving too many people the benefit of the doubt...
Dana White/others have been working on getting the sport more main stream and having the fighters seen as skilled athletes for 6 years or more....this includes getting some of the sports media to see it this way...MMA is now bona-fide. And while i was a little suprised to see the mainstream coverage, i wasn't overly so.

what's funny is that the American fans are too uneducated to know better than to boo Hendo and Jackson...they'll soon come to see that Pride had most of the best fighters in all weight classes...I'd say 90% of those people in the crowd booing didn't even have a clue who Hendo was...nor Jackson before he moved over to the UFC...I like Jackson as champ. His maniacal posturing won't be make him as popular in the States as it did in Japan but he speaks frankly and he is well connected in the MMA community. I liked when Hendo got in the ring and made a comment to the effect of "these guys are all my friends... it's time for us to go at each other and make some money with our friends".
Karo's judo is sick slick. That fight was good cause Burkman is such a gamer too.
Like Frank Drebin says, "All I know is, never bet on the white guy."
Never bring a fold up pruning saw to a chainsaw fight.personally, i'm still holding out for chainsaw fighting...
Random thoughts:
1) Karo should fight whoever wins GSP-Koz for a crack at whoever has the belt after Seera-Hughes. War f***ing Karo.
/QUOTE]
Agreed... as much of a GSP worshipper as I am, I really don't think the winner should get the title shot.... I think they both need to go through one more SOLID opponent before they get their (next- in the case of that handsome frenchman) shot. Karo is just the guy.
I bet Rich is also happy about that considering the ass whooping he got last timeWord. I don't like quickie title rematches like Hughes got. I'm glad to see FRanklin have to face Okami before potentially getting back in the cage with Anderson, too.
He's a bad mofo but search out rampage v. Wanderlei Silva on Youtube. One of the worst beatings I've ever seen.Rampage is an absolute animal, as soon as I saw him come out with that chain and he started howling at the moon all I could think is its not looking good for Chuck. I've only been into watching the UFC and other mma for about a year but I've got to say I really like it.

Have you watched Chuck Norris Presents ? World Combat League? It's bad ass. The fighters aren't as good and I wish they used lighter gloves, but the idea is kick ass. 4 minute round, nothing on the ground, no clinches, lose points for avoiding contact and stalling. It is a team event with one round for each weight class per half. So you swing for 4 minutes, then have about a 45 minute rest before you fight again.
I just watched that one.
It was like watching paint dry until the ref made them stand up.
Do you guys honestly like all to watch all that ground stuff? Its constant dry humping and leg locking.
On pay per view that makes for expensive porn.
When they are standing and punching, kicking and kneeing its exciting as hell though.
Apparently it's time wasted...but that's just me...When I saw the title of this thread, I thought it was about a court case.
