My order of bikes owned: a 20" wheel bmx type bike (don't have anymore), a garyfisher tyro ridged mtb w/ 24" wheels(don't have anymore), redline 360 bmx bike (still have), gary fisher level betty (I cracked at the HT and shock mount), Azonic evoulution (current mtb).

I have never had a freeride bike (although i have ridden them) of my own, and don't have much money at all, so I think an sgs will be a good first FR bike.

iron horses seem ok but if you are a pretty good intermediate black rider, if i were you i'd go top end, no matter the price, i think their highest end bike would be a medium upper medium class bike ...i have spoken...
Over the past two years IH has upped their level of engineering exponentially.
And many very acomplished riders CHOOSE to ride their bikes on their own dime.

I OWN / HAVE OWNED:
Intense M1, Santa Cruz V-10, Titus Quasi-Moto, Yeti ASX, Kona Stinky, Specialized Enduro SX, Specialized Epic, Cannondale HT, Azonic DS, Cortina Europa HT, Cortina Triton 4130 HT... And a Bridgstone steel road bike.

Some pretty high end bikes on that list.

I recently picked up an IH Sunday and think it's quality is easlily comparable to what many would consider "boutique" bikes.

And it's designed by the NOTORIOUS D-W!
