BofA nixed my debit and credit cards a few months ago (without notifying me of course, almost leaving me stranded) and mailed out new ones. Problem is, new ones never arrived and are still floating around in the mail - along with 4 replacements sent AFTER those for my debit card, and 2 for my credit card. That makes a grand total of 6 of my cards floating around in the mail system. Since then I've been using temporary cards, which never seem to work right and just lock up CC machines left and right. Today I was nearby my house trying to fill up the truck with gas before heading out of town to a relatives place, only to find out the card was expired and BofA could not reactivate either my credit card or debit card. I am glad I decided to gas up by my place, otherwise I would be stranded in the middle of nowhere. The frustrating thing is that BofA has been able to re-activate expired cards in the past. Over an hour dealing with their phone goons and nothing but the usual crap read off a screen. Since it's a Sunday, I can't go to a bank location to pull out cash. Until tomorrow, I'm completely hosed. Ended up not being able to go, and not going to be able to get lunch or dinner or gas to go anywhere. Fvcking pissed off.
Every time I do go into a bank location, I get harassed to either 1) donate so some fund or 2) sign up for more services.
The other annoying thing is that I've asked time and time again to have the replacement cards sent to the local bank location, and they aren't allowed to for some reason. Even though they have failed at delivering replacement cards to my address 6 times now.
Over BofA. What alternatives have people been satisfied with that don't try to sell you extra stuff, don't require 15 minute wait times to talk to an uninformed representative, and are able to actually deliver cards?
