coming into that time of year again. does anyone make anything specific?
had one of those clear AStars mudjackets but it tore quickly.
also have a northface hyvent but its not very suitable for riding
something light enough,flexible and waterproof.

I just use a gortex shell ski jacket, a little pricey but works better than anything else i've ever tried, always dry, breathes, a tougher in the high wear spots. I'd look around for deals on last year inventory, or even used to save a few bucks if price is an issue.

There's the RaceFace Chute jacket that I've had my eye on. Waterproof shell designed for cycling. Not sure how it'll breathe but at least you can wear layers under it.

Lots of stuff on www.backcountry.com. Usually that or Sierra Trading Post. You shouldn't have to spend more than $80 for something with a long tail, vents and waterproof, packable material. All the $200 stuff gets marked down from last year right now. Pull trigger ASAP.

Mine is a Sierra Designs Hurricane and it kills it. If you don't like the colors, there are a dozen or more other brands just like it.

Plus at that price point, you can walk away if you snag it on a root in a crash.
