Last year several of us got together and had this race... What do people think? Any interest in trying to do this again this year in Eastern Canada or NE US?
2011 Eastern Canada/North East US DH Endurance Championship?? Sounds good!
It was awesome fun - but very very draining. Easy enough to do for small group (we had 10). Girlfriends would take turns at the bottom of the hill to record us, and track number of laps. We used 4 different runs - your choice which you did (changed up scenery). Basically I stole the idea from the Angelfire Endurance Race in the fall.
Here is what we did last year, what do you think? Any interest on a larger scale?
2010 EVEREST DESCENT CHALLENGE
The 10 Hour Downhill MTB Race
The format: The Everest Descent is a ten hour endurance downhill mountain bike challenge.
The race begins at 10:00am and finishes at 8:00pm.
The rider with the most laps in the ten hour period is declared winner and king of the mountain.
The location: 750 vertical feet of Central Ontario DH lift access rocks, roots and mud.
Various track options will be available, with a centralized check in point after each lap.
The date: Wednesday July 14th. 10:00 am to 8:00pm.
The cost: Resort costs (lift ticket).
The bad: There is no insurance.
This is not supported or sanctioned by the resort.
This is an underground, invitation only race.
Race to descend over 25,000 accumulated vertical feet in only 10 hours! Does anyone have what it takes? Can anyone ride Everest in one day?
