I orderd a Surly crosscheck today to serve as my all around commute/training road bike.
Has anyone put in long miles on this bike....like double century length?
Comfortable?

what would you guys choose to spec it out with (drivetrain/ wheels) to make it as versitile as possible?

I did a AIDS benefit ride through Minnesota this past summer on my Cross check. The longest day was 85 miles(long for me) and it was super comfortable. The statement "Steel is Real" rings true with this bike. and the slacker gemoetry helped with comfort.

I have mine set up with ultegra groupo, mustache bars, and burly Salsa Delgao Cross Rims.

Your going to have alot of fun with this bike.

Have you gotten your crosscheck yet? I'm hoping to score a used frame this winter for the same reasons. I am just interested in any input.
