The 40 on my new DH bike probably comes with 52mm offset but 44 and 48 crowns are available. With a 27.5" wheel I'm sure I'll prefer 44. With a 29" wheel does anyone think I'll prefer the 48 or 52? On my 29" enduro bike I like 44 better than 51.

Yeah, the stock offsets on those are still huge. On the 27.5" one I'm happier with it at less than 44mm (to say nothing of the stock 48mm).

For what it's worth, the 2015-2020 crowns fit, and give you 41mm offset on either wheel size of 2021 fork. And they're a little lighter than the new ones.

I've been wondering about this as well since my 29er boxxer has a 56mm offset (I think).
Been on the lookout for a 27.5 set of crowns to reduce it to 46,though that might be not enough.

The Boxxer offers 2 different sets of crowns, which give you either 46 mm or 56 mm offset on the 29" fork, and either 36 mm or 46 mm on the 27.5" one. It's not a difference between 27.5" and 29" crowns, it's just short/long. The 29er lowers have 10mm more offset than the 27.5" ones, hence the difference.

Yeah I know, but the 29er forks tend to come (especially on full builds) with the +10mm offset crowns and the 27.5 come with the 0, so I'm looking for a set of crowns from a 27. 5 fork.
