What size are you running
I just built a DS/MX bike and I think the cranks are to short.
170mm Azonic with a 36 tooth chainring.
I am an old school BMXer and 180's are the norm.

I run 175mm cranks. I had previously been running 165mm of the same type, and the extra centimeter made a big difference. If you're old school bmx, do what feels right, especially if it's a hardtail or you're not worried about smacking pedals.

Smacking a pedal is not an issue. It just feels wierd to sprint with such short cranks.

are you running clips? i run clips and 175s on the bmx and the mtbike... im 6ft.... used to run 180s and even 182s with flats....

how low is your bb?

run what feels good but with a mtbike and gears and clips its all about the spin...
