I might have the opportunity at my work to drive a truck out to Calgary, but I will need to find a way back to Toronto.
Does anyone have any tips or secrets on getting dirt cheap flights or anything?
A little bit of information; My work has to send a truck to Calgary and they have been quoted roughly $1400 to have the truck shipped there, so being a dirt poor student I raised my hand and offered to drive it out there for much less. They will pay me a flat fee (which I am trying to calculate now) and my work will cover the gas. I'd drive it out and then have to find a way back. The fact that I'm a full time college student also has a factor on the mode of transport too. I will be doing this while my classes are going (unfortunately my reading week is next week), so it also needs to be a quick route.
The cheapest flight that I can find is $255 and a Greyhound ticket is about $150 (but takes over two days for the trip).
Any tips, tricks, secrets would be greatly appreciated!
And no, I won't thumb a ride in a truck like George Carlin.
