sorry to bother you but oh well...

i am looking for a X type crank/bb setup for a 83mm BB shell

so far i found offers from Race Face(diabolus) and MRP (Bones lite)
anybody in here who has some experience with these or maybe suggestions for alternative setups?

fsa gravity lights just came out in that size. another idea are the deity vendetta cranks, they come in an 83mm bb option now. They weight less than most of the above listed cranks (except the gravity lights) and I have never had a bearing problem running the old cranks for over 4 years

I've run Diabolus in the past.
They are tough as nails. I'm pretty sure they are impossible the bend/break.
Only downside is that they are pretty heavy, and I was running the 73mmx170mm setup.
Also, after you go throught the first bb, look into a saint bb.
They are compatible, and at least here in the PNW the bearings hold up better.

How much do you weigh?

right now i am about 230 target weigt for spring is <200 lbs

i am just not into the diabolus stuff

i am going to try to find some info about the weight of the deity cranks

i run a truvativ hussefelt with a howitzer team bb on my gran mal, which has an 83mm shell. it's not a "true" x type, but is a hybrid of sorts as it is an splined isis setup exclusive to truvativ. i'm at 200 lbs with all my gear, ran the cranks and bb all season, and loved them. pretty great price wise as well... around $120 for both cranks and bb. just a suggestion...

theres always the ever reliable Saints
IMO much better clamping design than the Diabolous
Definitely will last longer if you take you cranks off on a regular basis

Shimano hollowtech is indeed a better design than RF. and obviously, RF seems to be better than Truvativ. Not sure about materials and craftmanship though.
