I vote for a complete deletion so we can go back to talking about our bikes in other threads and start many others as well. That would really piss the haters off, eh?

The alternative is having anywhere from 2-10 bmw threads going at any one time like the mind numbing Avy Cult* members do. That would really wear out our welcome and do more harm than good. Allowing us to keep ourselves self-contained is tops. I think this thread has become accepted as a part of the RM DH landscape. We ain't harmin' anybudy.

10 pages back! Time to take action.

My friend's TMX needs a new hub. I haven't looked at the problem myself yet but I hear it's toast.

He said he's called BMW and they can't help. He said he called the hub maker (Hope I assume) too and they said they would make him a new one in 8 months or so.

What's up with this hub? 125mm? is that right? Anyone have any suggestions or a TMX compatable hub to sell?

Thanks for reading, Chris

How are you enjoying your RL ?

The Rl works fine best bike I've ever had. Hope the weather will be better next weekend so I can take it for a ride.

RL can't fit one. rohloff doesn't make a 12mm axle one. someone did fit one to a FQ though...

Some questions for the BMW people....

Considering the new Hitman I was wondering who has some real info. I have been trying 3 race links and I always think that they ride really nice, - though, I think the head angel is kind of steep.

How the the geometry of the Hitman compared to the rl ?
Also, except the changes in the toptube, the 3,5" DHS shock giving some more travel, - which differences do exist betwwen the rl and the Hitman ???

:) :) :)

i can smell a steep HT angel a mile away and i've never gotten such a whiff from a RL. I've felt that the RL is low, slack and moto compared to other DH frames. maybe that's cause i use riser bars and a short 30mm stem.

The HM is steeper. TT is like 1/8" longer. The Headtube is 5" instead of the Rl 4.5". The chainstays will hold a 2.5 in the shortest setting. The RL is like a 2.3 in the shortest setting. And its real close

are you bloody serious?

you have a Karpiel Army. i used too for a bit there, and ran the same fork on it as my RL, the Army is way steeper then the bmw.

you need to check that again..

Fair enough...I just tried a couple of RLs....no regular riding so it was just my first impression....

.....well, - it is not like that I compared the numbers....but riding the bike it was the first thing that hit me......just a feeling. If reality is different I cant tell you why

....so all in all the geometry is fairly close to the RL ?

Any idea of a price yet ?

......furthermore, as far as I understand the Hitman is built for drops adn freeride.....at least a more drop friendly version of the Race Link ?? So, I was thinking how the Big Link and the Hitman compare when talking hard core dropping ?? Is the Hitman a worthy replacement for the BIg Link or will the Big Link still stand alone as "the drop bike" ??? Just some thoughts.....

you're talking pretty much about the same thing. the hitman is the refined version of the biglink.
the big link was just more of a tmx with linkage

so the linkage built Hitman would be more progressive than the Big Link ?

The HM fills the gap left behind from the TMX and BL. It is made more for drops and Fring. I dont have it complete yet so I dont know the numbers. Doc says it is like the BL less 10lbs
