Ironically everthing is uphill in the PNW. Go figure. Is there anything like 38 around here?
I'll add:winery trails
snake
north shore
whistler
Port angeles
Those guys announce an opening date yet?Surprised nobody mentioned Willamette Ski Area right outside Eugene. $14.00 gets you an enclosed gondola lift all day, there are 3-4 DH trails, each having a few different offshoots. The racing there is pretty sick, sub 4 minutes for the super fast guys & about 4 minutes for us old guys. BTW, these runs require almost no pedalling ; ) They even have pizza's, burgers, micro brews, etc.. at the lodge.
Surprised nobody mentioned Willamette Ski Area right outside Eugene...
Not yet, I usually start calling mid May, as they don't update the website very often. Opening week is as good as it gets & all through June, start blowing out a bit in July, totally hammered by August, but still fun no matter what the conditions! Those guys announce an opening date yet?

....that stop working once in a while with people still on them!Gotta love lift chairs...
Having a slight thing with heights I am normaly OK with chairlifts.
Looks like a cool spot... but is'nt this guy is looking for DH not freeride?Whatever you do, definitely don't watch this video:
God I hate the riding here!
Thats not discouragement tactics either!I should also add that the weather here SUCKS! if you can handle months on end without seeing the sun and at least some from of drizzly precipitation a minimum of once a day, all but maybe 3 months of the year... then your ready for the PNW.
Ride around the stunts and you have DH. Right?Looks like a cool spot... but is'nt this guy is looking for DH not freeride?
