Hello there everyone...

I have a question,
First I shall explain my situation. I have just got my hands on a Nukeproof Titanium spring, it is for a 3.5 inch stroke shock. It's a 400 x 3.5. The free length of the spring (190mm) is the exact same length as what the DHX 5 can just about accommodate, from when the collar is threaded all the way to the top of the shock body. I can fit the spring onto the shock body with a bit of force (i.e.) compressing the spring slightly to get the bottom collar on.

my question...
will this affect the performance of the shock in anyway?

No, you should be just fine, My fifth element is the same way, just take into account that little bit pf preload your already getting when you set your sag

agree 100%.

If the free length fits (seems to), and the spring stroke is as long or longer than the shock (it is)...everything will be fine.

FWIW, both stock CCDB springs I have need to be compressed with multiple zip-ties to compress enough to get them off the CCDB shock body....
