Just ordered a frame with a 142mm rear end. I already have a couple 135x12 hubs, and a lathe. Since I'm cheap, I'd rather just make 2 3.5mm spacers to fill out the gaps on each end than buy new axles. Yes, I know installing the wheel will be annoying.

Question is, what is the OD of the shoulder on a 142mm hub?

Largely. Drivetrain/wheels/brakes/cockpit are all in great shape, so they'll migrate over. Probably getting a new fork for it.

You're referring to the 2013 rev.A 1.1 142 mm axle standard. As of last week, Trek have released rev B which is different...
