Home healthcare nurse said my wife's knee replacement surgery site is healed up enough to not need a dressing on it. The Staples should be ready to come out at the end of the week although there is still some swelling and tenderness so the cold ice water knee wrap pad machine remains in play 24x7. Me I'm driving Paratransit in the Livermore area today

Happy Wednesday. Lovely sunrise again this morning. I'm thinking about making a back appt. over in Portland to see a different specialist. The wait in Bend is like 4 months. Ridiculous.

Good idea. The more opinions the better. Make sure that they FIX you.
Everyone just keeps telling me it should get better. Well, it's not, so now what? The crappy thing is I can't sit for more than about 15 minutes without unbearable pain so the 3 hour car ride to PDX becomes quite a challenge.

Found on reddit in a basic training thread

"One guy was in formation and decided to start watching planes fly over. He kept leaning back and looking around at the flight patterns so the instructors pulled him out of formation and yelled at him for a bit. They made him spin in a circle like a radar antenna, point, and say "There!" every time he saw an airplane."

I presume they've done an MRI? The initial few weeks after my injury they recommended the "wait and see" conservative approach. But when the progress was *obviously* not in the right direction I told my primary care that I had to have a referral & whatever else needed to be done to properly diagnose & fix it.

Yes, a tear L3/4 and a bulge 4/5. I skipped the primary care and went straight to an orthopedic surgeon.

Morning Monkeys.

Lots to do today, had a good time at the company gig last night. Would have rather stayed for the arcade run, but had to get home for the kid and stuff.

Not sure what your insurance is like, but there is a sports medicine clinic that has walk ins as well for sports related injuries.By the hospital just off HWY 26 on the west side. http://www.oandfs.com

When I blew up my knee playing soccer last time, I walked in on a Monday, they had me scheduled for an MRI and I ended up getting surgery within a few weeks. Not only was the service top notch, but it was fast. Not like going to my primary care doc.

Of course I do I ride all year round on the road bike. I just use a heavy pair of wool socks and a nice windstopper boot. I tried a lot of different versions and a lot of them were crap but I this one from Gore Bike Wear is really high quality and not very bulky:

So far that has managed to keep my feet warm even at night and freezing weather.

Well here is my update......

Right kidney is still bleeding quite a bit, still not sure if the upper part were the blood flow issue has become necrotic or if its going to heal.... Still also not exactly sure as to what caused the blood flow issue in the first place, could be the stone, could be something worse.... Still might lose a kidney.......... Still cannot find exactly what is causing the pain.... Cannot have another CT scan for a while because I have had too much exposure these last two weeks....... On top of possible necrosis inside my kidney, kidney function is dropping.

That was my morning, so I got the ok to go ahead and get a light workout, hiking, walking no more..... Went for a decent hike... Came back to this

I really hate thieves.... they took the stereo, both my cd binders, two jackets, and my blood glucose meter. Just to rub it in, they took my brand new pack of ****ing bubble gum..... Eff wednesdays

So Yeah, I am in a less than stellar mood
