Well, actually, it started this past Wednesday. After a work meeting Thursday, and doing some honey-do's around the house, we're off for San Francisco, taking in the Golden Gate Kennel Club dog show at the Cow Palace Sunday, then a bit south to Pacific Grove to partake of my favorite ride (PG to Monterey Aquarium along the coastal drive there). Eat, drink, shop, spoil the missus, and breathe the fresh sea air while watching some sunsets.

Pics to come......

And we did have a gggrrrreeeeaaatttt time.....

Got to San Francisco Saturday, checked in to the Chelsea Inn on Lombard, walked to the Bay to view the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz, back to Amici's for early dinner (try the 4-cheese lasagna, complete with crispy bits on the edges), walked to Union Street, and back to the room for drinking and relaxing. Sunday, it's off to the Golden Gate Kennel Club dog show at the Cow Palace, finally see a show Japanese Chin (missed them the first 4 shows we went to), oogled the Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and had a Gordon Setter "love" me (don't ask to see any stains, 'cuz it didn't happen!!). Back to enjoy pizza at Tony's Pizzeria Napolateno's, and actually met Tony!! Neat guy, and even took a pic with me. Breakfast Monday at Mel's Diner, and off to Pacific Grove.

Get to our room at Sunset Inn, but first, had a stop at one of the coves by the aquarium where we watched the seals lounge around. Sunset had a room with a jacuzzi tub ready for us, and we enjoyed it immediately. Lunch at Peppers, and window shopped in downtown Pacific Grove. Stopped by the shore along Ocean View Drive, and just listened to the waves crashing. Up Tuesday morning, breakfast at Trieste in Monterey, shopping along Lighthouse Drive (used book store and used records for an Elvis cd), and back to the room, where we got ready and went on a bike ride along Ocean View. Ride along Cannery Row, stopped to get some chocolate sauce at Ghiradelli's, and back to the room. Dinner that night at the Beach House, where we had an excellent table/view on the patio (table 77 if it matters). Back to the room, and more drinking/relaxing/tubbing.

Hard to leave on Wednesday, though we did have lunch at an off-main street diner (great calamari burger), shopping at Blessings, walk from Beach House to aquarium (very relaxing), lunch at Pizza My Heart, and the long drive home.

I'm still downloading pics to Photobucket to share, so be patient. To me, they will be worth it.....

Nowhere Man!
I am thinking of heading to Vermont to go solo at my pace skiing. I can ski for free at Killington. I like Jay Peak but man what a haul to get there. I may just go to Boston and the hit up Watchusset on the way home.

I think so...centrally located, familiar, already scouted etc.

Cant do this weekend, or can we?

Hhmmm...... Excellent idea. Not to be a buzzkill, as that is also the same weekend as Downieville. I know fun is the key, so racing D-ville may be out. Room rates will be a bit higher in Mammoth, unless camping is chosen.

Decisions, decisions, decisions..........

Nice.
Laura has been wanting to take me to SF. She loves it. I have never been.

Downieville is close to me...if others are interested then lets party there...
I put in my eeaaarrrrllllyyyy request for that Saturday off. Granted, casino life in Tahoe, and now with the new Hard Rock Casino opening, during the summer makes special time off difficult. And I don't plan on being, cough cough, sick, as the first/last time I "was", I broke my left arm at the Pinenut Cracker race I was in. NOT doing that again.......

Nice.

If you can deal with the traffic, you'll have a blast. Walking isn't too bad, as long as you know your area like we do around Lombard/Union/Chestnut Streets.

Looking at the dates/locations again, as much of a blast Downieville will be, to celebrate RM-dom with you folks in Mammoth would be unbeatable. I still need to take someone to Chair 14. Ask if you are curious....
