I bought a set of XT's from a friend and it is the 6" set, but i plan on putting them on my DH bike, and i have rotors, and a rear adapter for the 8''. my only problem was i needed a front adapter and i got to thinking, am i going to need a boxxer-specific adapter for the front?? and if so how much do shimano adapters run for, i got the other one for free from another person.

Talk to GRC, I got adapters from them and they've been perfect for over two years.

are you running your's on a boxxer?

I'm fairly sure the boxxer adapter is unique because the brake mount has a different offset, so yeah, I think you need a different adapter. GRC makes them, so does Shimano, others too. Retail is probably something like $45 or $50. Guess which one of these is you and which one is Rockshox?

I have the shimano one if you are interested. They are both pretty close in terms of build. Chainwhip has the GRC one on his DHR, and my Shimano holes were exactly the same...
