I'm looking at buying a used SX Trail frame. My buddy has the new one and I really like it but I can get the older one (an '08) for a lot less. The geometry appears to be the same so is there any reason I should go for the newer one, like strength?

I want a playful but :-)rolleyes:) stable bike for messing around in the woods and the occasional bikepark. I have to be able to manual and somewhat bunnyhop on it. Any other suggestions?

the older bike was built to pedal a bit more. It was a super aggressive do everything mountain bike. The new one is much more of a freeride bike. It doesn't pedal as well, its got 10mm more travel, its heavier, the seat tube is setup to be further back, and I think its more progressive. If you're getting it to ride a bike park, its worth it to get the new one. If you do ultra huge hucks, its probably worth it to get the new one. If you're using it for some bike park, some shuttle, some pedal, some jumps, etc, the old one is the way to go.
